RASC News Agency: Local sources in Takhar province report that Taliban forces executed a former member of Afghanistan’s previous army in the Ganjali Baik village, located in the city of Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province. According to these sources, the victim, Hussain Rizwani, was a commando who had taken up farming on his land after the fall of the previous government.
Sources indicate that Rizwani was killed by the Taliban on the evening of Monday, September 2, while the Taliban were searching for members of the Resistance Front in the area. Relatives of the former commando stated that after the Taliban regained control of Afghanistan, Rizwani led a peaceful life and was focused on farming in his village, with “no connections to any anti-Taliban groups.”
The sources report that Rizwani’s body is currently at the Takhar hospital, and the Taliban have yet to hand it over to his family. It is also noted that Resistance Front forces had attacked Taliban intelligence agents near the Gaumali Alley on the Takhar-Badakhshan highway, resulting in the death of two Taliban members and injuries to several others. Among the dead was Qari Jalal Ayoubi, one of the two Taliban fighters killed in the attack.
During their search for the attackers, the Taliban opened fire on Hussain Rizwani in the Ganjali village, although he had no involvement in the attack on the Taliban’s intelligence forces. The Taliban have not yet commented on this incident. Over the past three years, the Taliban have reportedly killed thousands of former security forces members.
