Thomas West: No Justification for Killing Innocent People

RASC News Agency: The U.S. Special Representative for Afghanistan, Thomas West, has condemned the recent suicide attack targeting employees of the Taliban’s Directorate of Supervision and Enforcement of Orders (formerly the Attorney General’s Office) in Kabul, asserting that there is no justification for targeting innocent people.

In a message posted on his X account on Tuesday, September 3, West expressed his condolences, stating, “Our hearts are with the wounded and those who have lost loved ones.” The attack occurred at 4:15 PM on Monday when a suicide bomber detonated explosives as employees of the Directorate were leaving their offices.

The Taliban reported that the attack resulted in six deaths, including one woman, and left 12 others injured. However, sources have informed the media that the death toll was at least 11, with more than 15 others wounded.

It is worth noting that all the victims of this incident were young Tajiks and former employees of the previous government. Citizens believe that the Taliban were behind this attack, motivated by ethnic and factional intentions. Last year, the Taliban also targeted employees of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, killing numerous young people and staff members.

It is widely believed that whenever someone is removed from a government position, they are replaced by a Taliban member or someone aligned with the group.
