RASC News Agency: The Panjshiryan Global Council has released a new report, revealing that over the past three years, the Taliban have killed 283 individuals, including women and children, in Panjshir province. According to the report, which was made available to the media on Saturday, August 10, the council has listed the names of the victims, while acknowledging that the actual number of casualties is likely much higher due to restricted access to information.
Released on the eve of the Taliban’s takeover anniversary, the report does not specify the charges against the slain individuals but asserts that “evidence and documentation indicate that these people were brutally killed.” The Panjshiryan Global Council’s report details that the Taliban employed methods such as “beheadings, gouging out eyes, summary executions, killing sons in front of their fathers,” and other forms of torture against these individuals.
The council further reports that nearly 21,000 Taliban fighters are stationed across various parts of Panjshir, with checkpoints established in numerous villages. The report underscores that the actions carried out in Panjshir over the past three years are in clear violation of Islamic principles, as well as national and international laws, constituting criminal acts.
The Taliban have not yet responded to these allegations. It should be noted that Panjshir remains a stronghold of the National Resistance Front of Afghanistan, which continues to engage in armed resistance against the Taliban. In the initial months of their rule, Taliban forces clashed multiple times with resistance fighters in Panjshir. Over the past three years, the Taliban have consistently arrested, tortured, and even executed civilians in the region.
In many instances, the Taliban have accused these individuals of collaborating with the National Resistance Front, although the families of the victims have often dismissed these allegations as baseless.
