Sources: Taliban Deputy Defense Minister Hosts TTP Leader in Kabul

RASC News Agency: Media sources reports that Mohammad Fazil Mazloom, Deputy Defense Minister of the Taliban, recently held talks in Kabul with Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Media sources, citing individuals within the Taliban, noted that the meeting occurred this past Saturday and centered on border management issues and Islamabad’s ongoing pressure on the TTP.

At present, neither the Afghanistani Taliban nor the TTP have made formal statements regarding the meeting. It’s worth mentioning that Pakistani media previously reported on a meeting between the TTP leader and high-ranking Taliban officials. Since the Taliban assumed control of Afghanistan, Pakistan has faced an unprecedented increase in attacks by militants opposed to the current administration.

Pakistani authorities have accused the Taliban of providing safe havens to TTP leaders and combatants in Afghanistan. Pakistan asserts that TTP militants use Afghanistan territory as a base for launching attacks on Pakistani soil.
