RASC News Agency: Multiple residents of Darym district in Badakhshan province have confirmed the arrest of six male protesters by Taliban members in the area. On Friday, May 4, residents of Qarluq village in Darym district launched protests following the killing of a civilian by Taliban members.

According to Abdul Qadir, a local resident, the Taliban arrested six protesters who attempted to enter Darym city for negotiations. A reliable source told the media that the Taliban plans to suppress the population by sending more of their members to the region. The source noted that the local community is angered and plans to continue their protests today.

The arrest of the six protesters was confirmed by the Taliban’s provincial police command in Badakhshan, which stated that these individuals were detained for inciting and exploiting some farmers. Ehsanullah Kamgar, a spokesperson for the Taliban’s provincial police command in Badakhshan, claimed that locals threw stones and sticks at the group and attempted to set their vehicles on fire.

The recent confrontation between the Taliban and protesters in Badakhshan resulted in the death of one local civilian and injuries to at least ten others due to gunfire.
