RASC News Agency: Citing local sources from Helmand Province, an explosion of unexploded ordnance in this region has led to the loss of lives for three children and injuries to two others. Sources have informed the media that this incident occurred on Saturday morning, March 23rd, in the “Parchowi” area of Garmser district in the province.
According to sources, the explosion happened when the children brought unexploded ordnance from outside into their home and were engaged in childish games.
The victims of this incident are reportedly all members of one family. This unfolds against the backdrop of thousands of mines being planted in various parts of the country during internal and proxy wars over the past few decades. Based on available information, a significant amount of unexploded ordnance remains in different provinces, posing a current threat to lives, particularly children.
Mine-laying and the use of homemade mines rank among the Taliban’s primary military tactics, as they have been regarded as the principal warring faction over the past two decades. Even after assuming control of the country, Taliban authorities have acknowledged utilizing their personnel for mine-laying, presenting it as one of their commendable skills.
