RASC News Agency: According to local sources in Logar province, an unidentified group of armed individuals has assassinated a Taliban commander in Pul-e Alam, the provincial capital. Sources relayed to the media on Monday, Feb 26, that the incident transpired on Sunday of the current week in Pul-e Alam, the central city of Logar province.

The deceased Taliban commander, reportedly identified as Sajjad Gul, led a Badri unit within the Taliban group operating in Logar province. Taliban authorities in Logar province have refrained from commenting on the matter thus far, and no individual or entity has claimed responsibility for the assassination.

This incident unfolds amid persistent claims by the Taliban group, since assuming control of the country, asserting the overall security of the nation. Nevertheless, reports depict a surge in insecurity and criminal activities across various provinces.

In the most recent episode on Saturday night of the current week, unidentified assailants fatally stabbed a 60-year-old man and his wife in Helmand province, with the motive behind the attack remaining undisclosed.
