RASC News Agency: The Taliban Supreme Court recently announced the public lashing of an individual in the Jalrez district of Maidan Wardak province. The court declared on Saturday, Feb 17, that the person received 20 lashes for engaging in an extramarital relationship and has also been sentenced to 10 months in prison.

However, a court newsletter further mentioned that local authorities of this group, during the execution of the lashing sentence, addressed the public about the “benefits of law enforcement.” This development occurs as the Taliban group has previously subjected citizens of the country to public lashings on various charges and sentenced them to several years in prison.

It is noteworthy that despite continuous calls from human rights advocates urging the Taliban to cease such actions, the group has insisted on non-interference in the internal affairs of the country.
