RASC News Agency: The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees announced the extension of validity for the Afghanistani registered refugees’ Identification Card (POR) in Pakistan until early in the 2025. The United Nations made this declaration on Wednesday, Feb 8, through a message on the X social media platform.

Pakistan hosts millions of Afghanistani refugees, nearly 500,000 of whom have been expelled from the country over the past four months. In the latest development, reports indicate that more than three thousand refugees have been identified, expelled, and repatriated to their country by Pakistani authorities over the past few days.

Pakistan’s actions have triggered widespread reactions, with expelled Afghanistani refugees facing certain threats upon their return to Afghanistan. Earlier, the World Food Programme (WFP) stated that over half of the expelled Afghanistani refugees from Pakistan are in urgent need of food assistance.
