RASC News Agency: Reports indicate that the Taliban’s Minister of Education recently acknowledged the presence of ISIS in Kunar province, stressing the active operations of this extremist group and its detrimental impact on fellow Muslims in the region. Neda Mohammad Nadeem, addressing the audience at Said Jamaluddin University in Kunar province, called upon the local populace to unite against ISIS and thwart any attempts to sow division. The Taliban’s Minister of Higher Education further directed his message to the youth and spiritual leaders of Kunar, urging them to stay vigilant and suppress any activities orchestrated by ISIS.
In the course of his address, the Taliban official unequivocally asserted that Afghanistan has no place for ISIS, despite the group’s claims of combating terrorist organizations, including ISIS, and ensuring security within the country. Nadeem emphasized that political parties and various groups are responsible for the discontent in Afghanistan, stating that the country follows a single religion, the Hanafi faith, which all Afghanistani citizens adhere to.
It’s essential to highlight that the Taliban official’s claim of a single religion in Afghanistan contradicts the reality that a significant number of citizens in the country follow the Shia religion. Spiritual leaders and Shia followers in Afghanistan have repeatedly accused the Taliban of violating their rights, further complicating the religious landscape.
Despite the Taliban’s assumption of power, they have adjusted their policies to align with the Hanafi faith, imposing restrictions on various Shia religious events and ceremonies. Concurrently, the presence and actions of terrorist organizations in Afghanistan, operating under the Taliban’s authority, continue to be identified as a regional and global security threat, a concern consistently denied by the Taliban.
